Shopping with PorPor

Another day spent with PorPor (Cantonese for grandmother). This time, PorPor was taking Lina<3 shopping for winter wear, it was the first time shopping with PorPor :)  Yesterday, it started with going to PorPor’s house in the morning after we ate breakfast, changed, and moisturized. Before leaving the house, she gave you her credit card to hold, and you looked so happy (to go shopping, lol just kidding, you were happy because it was something new for you to hold) with smiles. We went to Gap to exchange a jacket that PorPor had brought because it was a boy’s jacket and not very cute; with something else that was cuter, and girly (that PorPor picked out). It was such a cold and windy day. Lina<3 was dressed in many, many layers. Off the Macys we went in Herald Square by taking the train. We took all the elevators as you were in your new UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller. You had fun watching every thing from your seat in the stroller. You were able to turn your head left, right, back and front. It was also the first day out with the new UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller. Macys, it was your first time, and I am sure you did not even notice as there were so many things for you to focus on, like the thousands of people on the streets and the cars. PorPor brought you very nice things, and you kissed PorPor to say thank you. We also went to H&Ms. After a long day of shopping, we went back to PorPor’s house for dinner, and went home when your Daddy came to picked us up. Lina’s<3 all set for winter, thanks to PorPor.
It was a good day for shopping, although it was cold and windy. Lina<3 had a great time with PorPor as you love spending time with her.
Overall the first day with the UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller was great. It was easy to fold up, and open up. It was easy to move around. It was able to fit into smaller spaces. It looked comfortable for my little Lina<3 which is the most important. The stroller did end up with some scratches, already, on the first day out, ahh, (Mommy and OCD, lol) :( The basket on the stroller is fantastic, and very spacious.

Growling Monster

My baby learned how to growl, lol. Mommy first heard it three days ago when changing your diaper in your room. You just made a growling noise when Mommy was pulling off your pants. I laughed, wondering what noise is that you just made and had not heard it before. You did again after hearing me laughed. Lol, are you learning how to growl because you know it is October, and Halloween is coming up. Maybe you learned it from Mommy because I do a lot of different voices, and sounds to keep you interested and intrigued. Now you growled all the time, even when you are babbling. You babbled and growled at the same time, it is cute to listen to.

Arrival of UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller

Mommy’s stroller had arrived! Oh, I meant Lina’s<3 stroller. Had been tracking it since ordering it on Monday. It was so exciting receiving the stroller and I wanted to open it right away. You were put right next to the stroller, you admired the box a lot, touched it, tried to eat it, and went around the box. We waited for Daddy to come home to open it.
After opening it, Daddy put it together, and Lina<3 and I helped (Daddy did most of the work).

Isn’t beautiful? After putting it together, we went around the block as a family with the new stroller :)

Thank you PorPor and GongGong (grandmother and grandfather in Cantonese)!

Cradle Caps' Back

Your scalp had been dry, dry, and dry. What is the cause of this? Could your cradle caps be coming back? Oh I hope not. Mommy brushed your hair everyday, three or four times a day, before and after, every naps and bedtime. Mommy is putting lotion on your scalp, hoping to keep it moist. It has been months since Mommy "cured" your cradle caps (the first post about cradle cap) and have not return til now. Mommy is moisturizing your scalp.

Please comment if you have any solution for how to keep Lina's<3 moist?

Teething and Refusal to Eat

Another struggle/battle with my little Lina<3 every time you eat. Today during breakfast and lunch, it was so hard to feed. At breakfast you refused to eat all your cereal, your milk and water. At lunchtime, you did not even take one bite of your food. Just some sips of water and Morning Os (organic Cheerios). The Morning Os has become a staple to your every meal: breakfast, lunch, snack time, and dinner.

The battle sometimes begins as soon as you are put into your highchair, and strapped into it (most of the time, it is because you want to stay in Daddy's or Mommy's arms, I think).  Once you are in the highchair, it is sometimes a indication for you to scratch, scratch, and scratch. The foods are always ready for you to eat but you usually shake your head back and forth as your mouth is shut tight. Daddy and I try everything to get you to eat or just take one spoonful. The things that your Daddy and I do (mostly Mommy, since I am the one that feeds you most of the time) are different noises, dances moves, (yes, Daddy and I have dances moves, lol), different songs, different movements with spoon (like the airplane, going high and low), different utensils (your silicon spoon, regular spoon, fork and even chopsticks-have to be extremely careful and tried it once or twice), pretending to feed you from my plate, and giving you your milk first and then food. These things work some of the times, but other times, nothing works and you just end up eating your Morning Os, and some water. Even the Morning Os, you do not always eat because once you start to drop them on the floor, you'll do it over and over again instead of eating it. Sometimes, you rather feed Daddy or Mommy the Morning Os by putting it into our mouths, so cute. Mommy try changing the temperature of the food (cold applesauce, warm food, not too warm), but it does not always work.

This whole not eating business requires more nursing in between meals, during meals, and after meals. You are depleting the milk source, slowly but surely. The important thing is that you are not losing weight and your teething processing does not seemed to be bothering you that much (your fifth and sixth teeth may be coming soon).

First Shoes

Shoes, why do babies, who do not know how to walk, need them? Besides baby looking cute in shoes, there's really no need for them. Daddy and I thought that it was not a necessary purchase when you were born, or even after a few months old. I heard from other parents that, you'll just continue to buy, buy and buy, (if choose to buy shoes) because babies' feet are always growing and at a rapid pace.

My 10months baby, finally got her first pair of shoes, actually two pairs yesterday. The shoes are so cute. Lina<3 tried them on at the store and was fine with it on her feet. Lots of trail and error while trying on shoes for you. The shoes that we settled on were not too big or too small, just perfect for you.  One pair of pink boots, and one pair of gray and pink shoes. When we got home from the store, I laid them down in your play area, so you can get accustom to them. You picked it up, played with it, and put it in your mouth. As soon as Mommy put in on your foot, you looked startle, scared and disconcerted. You ran right into Mommy's arms, held me so tight as you were crying and screaming. My poor baby does not want your foot to feel constricted. It is like the big red ball incident all over again. Mommy took off the shoe right away and placed it next to you, but you were too frighten to take more than one look at it.

Today, you played with the shoes again. You tossed it around, and put it in your mouth. Mommy put one shoe on your foot, you were not so hysterical this time but still did not like it at all. You ran right into Mommy's arms and took off the shoe. After some time, Mommy tried to put the shoe on your foot again, you stared at it for a few minutes and then cried. It was time for a walk and Mommy put your pink shoes on while outside, hoping to distracting from hysterically crying and it worked! Your shoes stayed on and you did not even notice them that much. After the walk, when we got home, and Mommy placed you on the floor without taking your shoes off, you did not move an inch from where Mommy had left you. After a while, you started to move a little and started to cry when you could not move around well. You started to pull at your shoes, and became really frustrated when the shoes would not come off. So Mommy loosen it for you as a way to help you take off your shoes. Still it was not loose enough for you to pull it off. Another loosening, (particularly off your feet), and yay, you took off your shoes, one at a time with some crying and frustration but you did it!
