These are one of my favorite things:

From the Sound of Music, this phrase/song comes from. I would like to go over some of my girls favorite things, at the moment.

Ahhh…. juice, first it was orange juice, now Lina<3 had moved on to apple juice. It was started from PorPor with the juice boxes. Lina<3 likes to be silly when ask to stay still and take a picture, lol

Lina<3 also enjoyed talking a lot. Some of her favorite phrases are no, come on, one minute, let’s go, shopping, wait, don’t move (as she tries to take my picture with a camera), right here/there.  And singing along with me (ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle, Row Row Your Boat) and sings along with Daddy (our song, John Legend’s All of Me).  She enjoys watching her favorite show on YouTube Qiaohu and now it has become a daily thing that she has to do.

Serena:) continues to enjoy playing with her turtle very much especially when she is sitting on the bouncy chair. Serena:) has also moved on to playing with more toys, speaking more often with a lot of baby babbles. She is considered now to be spit-y as she is drooling a lot whenever she put her hands or toys in her mouth.

Like Lina<3 does not have enough toys, we went and built a box house, lol.

Does it look our schematic that we drew before building this house?

We look good in the the house but it is just Lina<3 and I because Lina<3 does not want her little sister in there.

(P.S. This project was done on a Sunday March 9, 2014, midmorning to afternoon)

our day

With such nice weather today, it is hard not to take advantage of it. So we packed a small diaper bag (yes, I always over pack) and put on our walking shoes and went outside.  Of course, the process was much, much longer than that sentence lol. It took one and half hour to get all of us ready.  It was an impromptu outing.

The morning before actually going outside went okay, not as smooth as I wanted it to be. We slept in later than usually ( I think we are still adjusting the daylight saving from this past weekend). Lina<3 was not cooperative at all (but then again she is only two years old, lol). She did not want to change out of her pajamas, and said Mama do it, as she saw that I needed to take of her baby sister first. I said to her, why doesn't Lina<3 want to change her own clothes, you been doing so well the last few days of changing your own clothes. She goes Lina<3 naughty ( in Chinese), mama do it, lol. I told her to be a good helper and help mama by changing her own clothes while I take care of the baby. She said no, mama do it, Lina<3 naughty.  Breakfast time was bad, as Lina<3 did not want to eat and complained that her tummy hurts in Chinese. I did not see any other signs of what is the matter with her tummy except for a little bloating...there was no gas, nothing happened I the potty or in her pants ... Then a few minutes later she said she is okay as she wanted to go outside and play in the playground.

The playground was a disappointment :( It was a playground located in a school therefore, once school is in session, it is not open to the public. Lina<3 was so upset, cried, and went over to the locked gate and said to me that she wants to go wheee (which meant that she want to go on the slides, my brave little girl). The only she could understood it, is when I tell her that the playground is no good and that we have to come back another time. A good distraction was telling her that we were going to the store which she interprets as shopping which she loves to do, talk about and pretend to do when she is at home, lol.

So to Walgreens we went. Lina <3 had become so talkative lately that I wonders what is going through that brain of hers. As soon as we walked the doors, she points up to security camera screen and said, Lina<3, really loudly (we really need to practice indoor voices, lol). We went through each aisle as we were not in a rush. She loves the baby aisle the best, and loves to pick up snacks for herself but always put back when ask to or gets distracted. I love talking to her and asking her questions about the items in the stores and she actually answers back and know the answers too. Also learned new words as well as she is always asking what is that in Chinese. Serena:) was awake the whole time, watching everything that crosses her path (more like whatever she can see), listening her big sister talk.

We brought new sunglasses, and she played with it. We, also, brought so some chocolates from Walgreens which became Lina<3 center of attention as soon as we got home, after washing our hands. After eating three Godiva dark chocolate truffles, she wanted more and had a "I want chocolate meltdown with tears" when I said no and had hid it from plain view (not a good spot though as I learned later on). But after taking care of Serena:) and thought Lina<3 was playing by herself nicely, I found Lina<3 seated in her chair in kitchen (she can climb so well on and off her highchair), a piece of chocolate in her hand, another piece she had laid out for Mommy and daddy as she explained to me quickly (she knew that she did something wrong). After two more chocolates, I put it away and she had a fit (I have pictures which will be posted later, trouble uploading).
After chocolates, it was time for a nap. One hour later, Lina<3 was still up, talking, and playing on her crib. Now Serena:) so no nap.  Lina<3 played by self, and ended up throwing something over the couch while I was washing dishes in kitchen.
I looked over at her without saying anything, then went back to continued washing. Then looked at her again as she said don't move. She was sitting on her daddy's chair (timeout chair - timeout was introduced two weeks ago, used only twice),, saying don't move. I said why, she said, throwing things no good. I said who is throwing things, she said Lina throw with hand movements. I said what are you doing on the chair, she said timeout with the biggest smile on her face, lol (will post a picture here later).
It was quite evening but dinner time could had been better as she did not eat well.  We sang "the wheels on the bus" which made Serena:) laughed so much :) Lina<3 fell asleep well, as she was so tired but Serena:) did not sleep easily tonight, she wanted to play and have our attention...

And that was our day ...

I love my girls. good night and sleep tight.

Queens Zoo

Today was an exciting day for all of us.  Since the weather was so nice (in the 50s Degrees), we took advantage of it by going to the Queens Zoo.
Mama’s job was to get three people (two babies and myself) dressed is always the hardest part plus making sure the snacks & diaper bags are in order, as well as my bag. It is always feels like the biggest job in the world.  Getting out of the door used to take no more than 30 minutes without the kids. Now with two of them, it takes more than an hour. I always tried plan ahead of time when I know that I am going to out with the kids, but getting ready still take an hour or so.
As soon as I announced to Lina<3 that we were going to the zoo, she said “no zoo” and a few seconds later, “mai mai” (which means to go buy something, to go shopping in Mandarin pinyin). Then I tried to explained to Lina<3 that we were going to the zoo to see different animals, like the bear, tiger (roared like a tiger for her to get interested), lion, giraffe…etc. Lina<3 continued with “mai mai, Lina<3 go mai mai”.  So I said yes, we are going to go outside and Lina<3 said quickly “okay, outside” and opens her closet to pick out her outfit, lol.
Off to the zoo but she thinks we are going shopping, lol

Finally, we got to the zoo, Lina<3 did not seem so excited at first. It is our first time visiting the zoo for the babies. Serena:) was awake and was able to enjoy a little sight seeing for the first part of the zoo, before going to sleep in Mama’s Baby Bjon baby carrier. Lina<3 stayed in the stroller for a while, and did not want to walk. After seeing a lot of children running around, she wanted to run as well. We saw a lot of ducks, birds, wolve, bear, seal, bison, cow, rabbit, goat, sheep, and horse. Daddy fed a goat, sheep, and a ram some food as you watched him in his arms at the petting zoo section.

The last part of the zoo, Lina<3 liked a lot and enjoyed.  It was where she played on her own on the jungle gym the zoo had. She was so adventurous and brave.  She was so grown up that she did not ask for any help from mommy and daddy at all. As a big girl, she went up the stairs on her own, and slid down the slide all by herself, without any hesitation. We did not follow her at all. We let her do it on her own. It makes me feel so scary that she was going to trip, and fall because the jungle gym was taller than me. The first swirl slide was very fast, which made Lina<3 a little apprehensive about doing it again. After walking around the jungle gym, she went right back up the stair and went to the straight slide. So adventurous, I am so proud that she was able to do it on her own. My little LIna<3 is growing up.

As we walked to the car, Lina<3 developed a nice thing, puddles. At first, she saw a small puddle and did not want to walk through it, so she walked over it. Then she discovered a bigger puddle, and thought it might be interesting to walk through it the first time. After seeing how fun it is to walk through the puddle, she decided to stop in the middle of the puddle, take a look, and realized her boots are wet and her feet is wet,

We had a very good day, Lina<3 did not want to leave the zoo at all. We hope to have more sunny and warmer weathers like today.
I wish I can say that these two went to sleep easily but the important thing is that they sleep through the night (at least Lina<3 does).
So good night and sweet dreams my little babies :)
